Eureka Mignon care: burr cleaning without losing your grind setting
Eureka's stepless system is designed to open for cleaning and close at the same setting — plus the official cleaning routine and the Zero's Blow Up routine.
This guide reports Eureka's own documentation (product pages, user manual downloads, and official videos), checked 2026-09-22 — not hands-on testing.
The setting-preservation design
The patented Stepless Micrometric Regulation System adjusts by repositioning the lower burr. Eureka documents the practical consequence: you can carry out burr maintenance without losing your grind setting. On stepped grinders, reassembly drift is a known annoyance; here the manufacturer claims the setting survives disassembly.
The official cleaning routine
- Eureka publishes an official "Mignon Silent Range — Cleaning and burrs substitution" video covering the full strip-down, and a chute group cleaning video for the grounds path.
- The High Speed Maintenance program (documented for the Perfetto, common to the range) describes handy, easy maintenance operations.
- Use the brush on the chute and fork regularly; the ACE system (Anti-Clumps & Electrostaticity) reduces the clumping you're cleaning up in the first place.
The Zero's Blow Up routine
The Mignon Zero ships with the Single Dose Blow Up bellows: after each dose, a puff of air clears the chute — Eureka describes it as "the mechanism eliminating the retention with a blow." That is the documented low-retention workflow single-dosers buy this grinder for.
What Eureka does not document
No public burr-lifespan figure is published for the Zero or Perfetto (the 55 mm Silenzio/Specialità burrs carry a stated 300 kg lifespan). When espresso drifts and cleaning no longer restores it, burr replacement via the documented substitution procedure is the manufacturer-supported next step — internal motor work is a service job, not an owner task.
